Srinagar: Turning down the poll boycott call of separatists, National Panthers Party Chairman Bhim Singh Wednesday asked the Hurriyat Conference to participate in the elections to prove its representative strength.
"Hurriyat leaders should participate in the election to prove their legitimacy in the assembly and talks about the Kashmiris," Singh told election rallies at Sonawari, Kangan and Ganderbal Wednesday.
Referring to separatists poll boycott call, Singh said, "no one can stop elections as the people of Kashmir want change, which is possible only through a poll process."
He appealed to the youth of Kashmir to choose ballot to resolve the Kashmir issue as secular, non-violent and peace-loving people have rejected bloodshed for the purpose.
The party has, so far, announced candidates for 63 out of 87 assembly constituencies of the state.
