AGP joins BJP-led NDA
Thursday, November 13, 2008 13:22 [IST]

New Delhi: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has agreed to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani announced Thursday.

Advani told reporters here after a meeting of his party's Central Election Committee: "This is a very important decision in the wake of the series of bombings in the state, which has already been in turmoil."

The announcement follows a meeting BJP leaders Jaswant Singh and Sushma Swaraj had Wednesday with AGP leaders.
