Kabul: Two soldiers with NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) have been killed in an explosion in southern Afghanistan, the allied forces said today.
The incident took place yesterday but the alliance did not give the exact location of the incident nor the nationality of the deceased.
"Two ISAF soldiers were killed in an explosion in southern Afghanistan November 12," the alliance said in a press statement.
The latest casualties bring the number of foreign troops killed while under the command of NATO and US-led coalition forces this year to 258 according to the icasualties.org website.
There are nearly 70,000 foreign troops in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban-led insurgency alongside Afghan troops. The insurgency has claimed the lives of more than 1,000 foreign soldiers and thousands of Afghans.
