Islamabad: Pakistan today termed the cross-border missile strikes inside its territory by US drones a "violation of international laws and understandings between the two sides".
The government is working on several levels to address this issue and is committed to do whatever possible to stop these attacks, Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Sadiq told newsmen at his weekly news briefing here.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan army today said that its chief Ashfaq Kayani will visit Brussels next week to hold parleys with senior NATO officials on the issue.
Asked about the abduction of an Iranian diplomat and that of Chinese and Polish engineers by suspected Taliban militants, Sadiq said the government is committed to early recovery of all people kidnapped in Pakistani territory.
Iranian diplomat Hashmatullah Atharzadeh and his driver were today kidnapped by unidentified gunmen, who ambushed his car and shot dead his personal guard, in the northwestern city of Peshawar.
The Taliban is currently holding a Chinese engineer and a Polish engineer whom they kidnapped some time ago.
The Foreign Minister, who is in New York has issued a statement assuring that all kidnapped diplomats or foreigners would be recovered as soon as possible.
Replying to a query on financial assistance by the Friends to Pakistan Group , Sadiq said the organisation is not a donor group and that President Asif Ali Zardari has made very clear that it is a support group by "Friendly countries.
"They would provide support to Pakistan at international fora, promote investment in Pakistan and the assistance coming from them will be project based. There are no schemes of cash based assistance," Sadiq said.
