Bhopal: Former BJP President Venkaiah Naidu today warned of dire consequences if the Congress led UPA Government banned organisations like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
"If the Congress gets nationalist organisations banned, it should be ready to face the consequences," the former BJP President told reporters here.
"These days the Congress is playing with fire and its results would be damaging for it in the long run," Naidu said.
The Congress was maligning nationalist organisations even though no proof had been found against them, he added.
Commenting on the ongoing probe into the September 29 Malegaon blasts, the former BJP chief alleged that the Maharashtra ATS was giving a running commentary on those arrested in connection with the Malegaon blasts and the Congress was using it for electoral purposes.
Naidu claimed that while no arrests have been made so far in connection with the July 26,2006 serial blasts in Mumbai s local trains where more than 200 people were killed the ATS was making a hue and cry over the Malegaon blasts in which only seven people were killed.
Naidu also said that a terrorist was a terrorist and it would be unwise to dub him as a Muslim or a Hindu terrorist.
