Muzaffarnagar: At least 16 people, including seven children, were killed and 45 others injured when a bus carrying a marriage party collided with a truck on the Panipat highway in the district.

Police said the incident occurred last night when a bus carrying a marriage party returning to Sisoli town from Panipat collided with a stationery truck. The injured were rushed to various hospitals, where some of them are said to be in critical condition.

Senior police officers have rushed to the spot and rescue operation has been started. The grandfather of the bridegroom also died in the accident.
