Students block traffic

Kurukshetra: A large number of students of Bhagwan Parshuram College in sector 5 HUDA blocked the vehicular traffic on Kurukshetra-Pipli-Yamunanagar road for about 40 minutes to protest against the Haryana Roadways drivers not stopping their local buses at the bus stop near the college.

They sat on dharna on the road and blocked the traffic.

Amit Chauhan, a BA first year student said they often reach late and miss the classes as the drivers do not stop even the local buses near the college stop.

After some time , police reached the stop and tried to convince them to remove the blockade. The police officer contacted the general manager who was not available in his office.

After half an hour's efforts, the police forcibly removed the protesting students from dharna and canecharged them while chasing them away.
