BJP slammed UPA for 'linking' Hindus with terrorism
Tuesday, November 18, 2008 19:11 [IST]
Rampur: Lashing out at the UPA government for "linking" Hindu organisations with terror, the BJP on Tuesday warned of "a revolt-like-situation" if such move to "defame and torture" sadhus and security personnel continued.

"A revolt-like-situation may emerge if alleged conspired malicious move to defame and torture sadhus and security personnel continues," BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

The Prime Minister should refrain from exporting to the world community distorted versions of the cosmopolitan culture of India by branding sadhus and sadhvees as terrorists, Naqvi said and criticised him for mortgaging his vision and wisdom in the hands of Congress.

"The Congress, controlled by immature politicians like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, under whose directives the Anti Terrorists Squad has been activated to take all the malafide steps to defame Indian Culture," he added.

Alleging the Congress party for sowing the seed of militancy in the country, Naqvi said: "Militancy may be in the guise of naxalism, Islamic terrorism or so called saffronised activism. It was the result of over six decades of Congress policies infected with well thought out conspiracy to keep the nation divided and carry on ruling the nation".

"In most of the cases the Congress and its so called secular allies have been pitting Muslim candidates in Muslim dominated constituencies and Hindu candidates in the areas dominated by Hindu population and that way drawing a very dangerous line of unfortunate separation between two major communities," Naqvi said.
