Kaushambi: Eight labourers were killed and 10 others injured today, when a private bus in which they were travelling was hit by a truck in Bhiti near here, a senior police officer said.
Among the injured, two were stated to be in a critical condition, Superintendent of Police E S Emmanuel said.
The mishap took place when the bus carrying about 70 passengers was on its way to Allahabad from here in the morning. The truck driver lost control over the vehicle, which hit the bus from the rear end.
"All the eight persons killed were labourers. They were going to Allahabad," he said.
The injured, including the drivers, were rushed to a nearby hospital. A case has been registered against the truck driver for rash driving.
