Man held for wife's murder

Sirsa: Police have arrested a person, a resident of village Bhamboor, one of the accused,for murdering his wife.

Ramkumar was produced in a court which sent him in judicial custody for 14 days. His mother and father are also accused in the same case, but are absconding, police said.

According to police sources the victim Bala Devi who was admitted to the local Civil Hospital with over 70 per cent burn injuries on August 30.

In her statement alleged that her husband Ramkumar, father in law Siri Chand and mother in law Vidya Devi had been harassing her for dowry and that day all the three persons set her afire after dousing her body with Kerosene oil.

The police had then registered a case under various sections of the IPC and had started investigations.

After the victim's death on November 5,section 302(murder) of the IPC was also added in the complaint.

Today victim's husband was arrested while the other accused are still evading their arrests, the sources said.
