Manmohan, Sonia to address poll rallies in Delhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will campaign for the party that is aiming to return to power in Delhi for the third consecutive term.

While Manmohan Singh will address a gathering at Dakshinpuri in south Delhi Nov 27 at noon, Gandhi will address a public meeting at the Ramlila Maidan near Mangolpuri at 2 p.m. Nov 23.

"Both leaders will address rallies in support of Congress candidates," Delhi Congress president J.P. Aggarwal said.

According to party sources, Congress general secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi is also likely to address a rally but details are yet to be worked out.

The election campaign for the Delhi assembly polls will conclude on Nov 27 and voting for 70 assembly seats in Delhi will take place Nov 29.
