Shimla: Tragedy struck a newly-married couple from New Delhi when their car fell into the Beas river in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district Wednesday, killing the groom and the driver on the spot, police said.
The couple was on their way to the popular tourist resort Manali from Shimla when the car rolled into the river on National Highway 21 near Pandoh town.
With the help of passers by, the police rescued the woman and admitted her to Regional Hospital in Mandi. Her situation was reported to be serious.
