New Delhi: Maharashtra, under attack over the issue of assault on north Indians, will present its case to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when he visits Mumbai on November 29.
Deshmukh said the parties will convey to Singh concerns over the "maligning of Maharashtra's image in the country despite the state having an all-encompassing culture".
The chief minister, who was in the capital to visit the Maharashtra Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair, said some parties will meet the Prime Minister when he visits Mumbai on November 29.
"The issue is no longer an all party issue," Deshmukh said pointing out that the BJP had boycotted the meeting and Shiv Sena refused to accompany other parties to meet Governor S C Jamir after an all party meeting on November 11.
Such efforts to tarnish Maharashtra's image are detrimental to national integration, speakers at the meeting had said.
Asked about the reservation of 80 per cent jobs for locals, Deshmukh said a survey conducted by the state government showed that local people were being given jobs in the state.
The state government has issued orders to monitor the implementation of its earlier decision to provide for quotas for locals in industries, the chief minister said.
