Mumbai: The Mumbai police have sent summons to all those persons tested positive for narcotics in connection with a raid on October 16 in a suburban night club, directing them to remain present before a magistrate's court within a week.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai police has sent summons to over 100 persons out of the 119 caught in the raid directing them to appear before a magistrate's court within a week.

"The persons, who have tested positive for narcotics, will have to appear before the court and file fresh bail applications," Deputy Commissioner of Police (ANC) Vishwans Nangre Patil said.

Patil said that out of the 119 reports received from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), 109 have tested positive.

In a raid carried out at the Bombay 72 Degree East restaurant in Juhu, the police had detained 231 people and arrested eight drug peddlers.

All the 231 detained were released on bonds by a magistrate's court after undergoing blood and urine tests.

The 109 people, who have tested positive will be booked under bailable sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Prevention) Act.

Those who had tested positive for narcotics could voluntarily choose to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation for drugs under sections of the NDPS or could face a maximum jail sentence of one year, Patil said.
