Rangiya: An ULFA militant was killed in an encounter with police today in lower Assam s Kamrup (rural) district. The insurgent, yet to be identified, exchanged fire with the police at Maujuli village, sources said.
However, none from the security forces were injured in the encounter, they said. A M-20 pistol and an Australian grenade were recovered from the slain ultra. The body has been sent for post-mortem, they added.
