Jammu: Taking serious note of violation of model code of conduct by (JKNPP) and BSP candidates in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, election authorities today issued notices to the two.

District Election Officer (DEO), Kathua, Mandeep Kour issued notices to Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) candidate Ravinder Pathania and Soom Raj Majtra of BSP in connection with the violation of model code of conduct by using loudspeakers and defacing public property in Kathua district, official sources said.

They have been asked to clean the walls of the public building and desist from the use of loudspeakers, otherwise action to disqualify them would be taken, they said.

The use of loudspeakers and defacement of public property is banned in the state.
