4 kg IED recovered in Rajouri

Jammu: With the recovery of over four kg IED, the Jammu and Kashmir police has claimed to have foiled a militants bid to trigger blasts in Rajouri district at a time when poll campaigning is going on in full swing in the area.

According to additional SP Nowshera R K Bhat, the police, on a tip-off, has recovered four-and-half kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED), three grenades, 56 AK rounds, 41 rounds of 7.62 MM rifle and one radio set during searches in Tirdoo area in Sunderbani-Kalakote belt last night.

"With the recovery, militants plan to trigger blasts were foiled at a time when campaigning was going on in full swing in the area," Bhat said.
