Two women in 2nd phase of elections in JK

Jammu: Two women candidates are in fray for second phase of elections in Rajouri and Ganderbal districts of Jammu and Kashmir on November 23.

"There are only two women candidates out of 81 in nine assembly segments of Rajouri and Ganderbal districts of the state in second phase of elections on November 23," election department officials said.

Both the women will contest elections in Rajouri district, they said adding that Sheraz Begum of BSP is contesting from Darhal assembly constituency and Mohinder Kour is in the fray as independent in Kalakote.

There were three women in the fray in first phase of elections in Poonch, Leh, Kargil and Bandipora districts which went to polls on November 17.
