BJP to field Advani, Modi for poll campaign in Delhi

New Delhi: Hoping to wrest Delhi this time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will unleash its star power , including senior leaders L. K. Advani and Narendra Modi and television star Smriti Irani, in the last seven days of poll campaign to woo the voters.

"The BJP s prime ministerial candidate L. K. Advani, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and television actress and BJP leader Smriti Irani are scheduled to address several rallies before Nov 27," Delhi BJP spokesperson Mewa Ram Arya told IANS. The election campaign for the Delhi polls will conclude Nov 27. Elections to the 70-seat Delhi legislative assembly are slated for Nov 29.

"While rallies of Advani-ji and Modi-ji will take place on Nov 25 and Nov 26,television star Smriti Irani (who became wellknown for her role as Tulsi in the soap Kyuunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi ) will address several rallies during the next few days," Arya said. The details of rallies are being finalised and would be declared very soon, he added

Other crowd pullers like former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu and actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha have already started campaigning with the candidates. Arya added: "Navjot Singh Sidhu and Shatrughan Sinha are also scheduled to address and attend several rallies on Nov 25,26,27." Party president Rajnath Singh, senior leaders Arun Jaitley, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Shah Nawaz Hussain are meeting people at public meetings.
