Goa CM congratulates Kelekar for Dnyanpeeth Award

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today congratulated eminent Konkani writer Padmabhushan Ravindra Kelekar for being awarded the Dnyanpeeth Award.

Kelekar received the award yesterday.

Kamat in his message said the writer has brought great honour and pride to the Goans by winning the precious Dnyanpeeth award in the official language Konkani, he said.

He said Kelekar, a freedom fighter, contributed to the liberation of Goa and towards promotion of Konkani language.

It is a national literary award conferred on the Goan Konkani writer and this will be written in the golden pages in the history of Goan literature, Kamat said.
