Vaghela questions Sangh's support to Sadhvi
Tuesday, November 25, 2008 17:45 [IST]

Ahmedabad: Union Textile Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela on Tuesday put a question mark on the intentions of Sangh Parivar members who are speaking in favour of Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh.

"The ATS is doing its inquiry. Why are they raising questions against ATS. Are they trying to save her and others involved in conspiracy fearing that they will be the next in
line," Vaghela told reporters.

"I am not making allegations against the entire Sangh Parivar but I am speaking for those who are trying to own the Sadhvi and Mahant Dayanand Pandey," he said.

"We should remember that the Abhinav Bharat is an organisation which has been created and promoted by family members of Nathuram Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi. They are following the policy of Godse," he said adding, "the religious organisation has influenced even defence personnel to be a part of it."

He said that fight against terrorism should be fought collectively and all the parties should join hands in it.

"This is not the time to hurl allegations and counter allegations," he added.

In a reply to a question regarding VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia's reported involvement in Abhinav Bharat, Vaghela said, "I am not aware of any such thing."

"Hindu religion does not permit to give answer of violence by violence," Vaghela further said adding, that terrorists have no religion they are anti-human, anti-nation
and anti-religion.

Raising question on the Gujarat Police, Vaghela said, "There are many loopholes in the investigations carried out by the Gujarat ATS in the investigations of city serial blasts
case. They have named persons, who were in Madhya Pradesh jails, as those responsible for the blasts. If they were in jail, how can they be involved."

"We have not raised questions on the functioning of Gujarat ATS as we know that they work under the instructions of the government there," he added.
