'Radio BJP' now in Delhi to woo youth
Tuesday, November 25, 2008 19:13 [IST]

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday launched its "Radio BJP" to woo nearly four million young voters for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls. Radio BJP, touted as the voice of today's youth, will appeal to the electorate to vote in favour of the saffron party during elections.

Delhi polls are scheduled for Nov 29. It will play the songs prepared by the party for campaigning and would interact with the young voters. Also, the radio will be accompanied by a star of the party such as Navjot Singh Sidhu or Daler Mehendi and a radio jockey to tell the public about the party's vision. The radio was launched in a "star studded" ceremony at the BJP office here by the former cricketer and BJP leader Sidhu.

BJP's chief ministerial candidate V. K. Malhotra, Punjabi singer Daler Mehendi and Hansraj Hans graced the occasion. The Radio BJP is made on an open tempo. "The radio would go to several places in the city that includes all the major markets in the next three days. Through this, the party will interact with the youth and will take their solutions, suggestions for the future of the city," Malhotra's daughter Anupama Malik told reporters at the launch. "Their contribution in the development of the city is very important," she added.

The vehicle, flagged off from the BJP office, will go to places such as South Extension, Sarojini Nagar market, Delhi University and Rohini Tuesday. It will also campaign in Malhotra's Greater Kailash constituency.
