Friday, November 28, 2008 11:40 [IST]

Suva: Four South Koreans died when their tour bus plunged down a cliff on Fiji 's main island of Viti Levu, local reports said.

The dead included three tourists and a South Korean tour guide, while three other South Korean tourists, a local guide and the local bus driver were injured, reports quoted the police as saying.

The tourists were on a sightseeing trip in the Nausori Highlands region of Viti Levu in the South Pacific nation on Thursday when the incident took place.

The bus veered off the road and tumbled down the steep slope before coming to rest at the foot of the hill, police said. Passengers were thrown from the bus after the roof was ripped off.

The cause of the crash was being investigated by police.
