Gaya: An unspecified number of heavily armed Maoists have blasted the house of a renegade comrade in Bihar's Gaya district, police said today.
"The Maoists raided Vikas Yadav's house at Girdhara village in Naxalite-hit Gaya district late last night," Superintendent of Police R Malar Vizzi told PTI.
Yadav, wanted in several cases of Naxalite violence, was arrested at Sherghati in the district last month and is currently lodged in divisional jail here.
His former comrades shepherded out the family members before pulling the house down by exploding dynamites.
There was no report of any casualty, Vizzi said.
Four firearms, including two self-loading rifles looted from the police, and several rounds of ammunition had been recovered during the raid at Yadav's hideout earlier.
Vikas had parted ways with Maoists and fled with their weapons before founding a little known ultra-left outfit, SPM, along with a few other disgruntled elements in the mother organisation.
Police suspect the Maoists attacked Yadav's house in search of the stolen weapons and demolished it after finding nothing.
