Darbhanga: A mentally challenged husband hacked his wife to death using a spade in Pola village in Bihar's Darbhanga district here today, police said.
Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sanjay Kumar said that Bhagwan Lal Mukhiya had a tiff with his wife Jaimala Devi over certain issue and in a fit of rage Mukhiya hacked his wife to death.
Mukhiya was over-powered and handed over to the police by the co-villagers who were also working in the nearby field, the SDPO said.
The dismembered body of Jaimala Devi has been sent to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for post-mortem, SDPO said adding that an FIR has been lodged against Mukhiya.
