Suspense begins for MP poll results
Friday, November 28, 2008 17:35 [IST]

Bhopal: With the results of assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh slated to be announced on December eight, a 10-day long period of agonising wait and suspense began today for the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress in the State.

Both the parties have been expressing confidence that they will win the elections but one of them will certainly be proved wrong when results are announced. There are differing views on which party will gain more because of the heavy percentage of polling.

While, one view is that the heavy polling percentage would surely help the BJP, some others are of the opinion that this would aid the Congress as it indicates the people's anger with the BJP government.

Opinion is divided also on the impact, the terror blasts in Mumbai will have on the poll outcomes.

Some say that the blasts will surely help the BJP while, others hold the view that the terror strikes would not affect the Congress chances in the polls.
