Rahul stands in queue; casts vote
Saturday, November 29, 2008 09:44 [IST]
New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi was today among the early morning voters to exercise their franchise in the Delhi Assembly elections.

The Gandhi scion, accompanied by a heavy posse of security personnel, cast his ballot at Nagar Palika Secondary School in Rajesh Pilot Lane in New Delhi constituency from where Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is contesting.

There were five others in the queue when the 39-year-old Amethi MP arrived at the booth at around 8:30 a.m. And was offered to vote straight away.

However, Gandhi refused to jump the queue and cast his vote.

"I am running late," Gandhi said when confronted by waiting media personnel and did not respond to any question.
