New Delhi: The voters of Delhi were today flooded with a flurry of text messages on whom should they vote for, including one that claimed to be from BSP supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.
A number of voters got an SMS in the morning - "Please accept my Good Morning and my Humble Request, please cast your vote against sealing, demolition, corruption terrorism on height, inflation. Mayawati CM UP."
It was not established whether the BSP has sent the message.
The BJP's IT cell convenor Vivek Goel sent SMSes to a large of number of voters with the saffron party's pet slogan Mehangi Padi Congress (Congress proved costly).
With India witnessing its worst-ever terror attack in Mumbai, the messages also focussed on issue of terrorism and national security.
"Enough is enough. The terrorists have not only attacked Mumbai but our national pride. India can no longer afford a weak government. Mehangi Padi Congress," the message from Goel said.
In a message countering the BJP s argument, an SMS which came from Sochiye said, "Har terrorist attack chunav se pehle hi kyon hota hai? Isme fayda kiska? Atank par vote mangne ki sasti rajniti desh ko mehangi padegi. (Why is it that every terror attack takes place before elections, who benefits from this? Asking for votes in the name of terrorism will prove costly for the country." Source : PTI
