Saturday, November 29, 2008 13:02 [IST]

Mumbai: A senior Chinese scientist has strongly condemned the Mumbai terrorist attacks, describing them as "unforgiving and inhuman crime".

"I was shocked by the terrorist attacks on innocent citizens in Mumbai, which I saw on the Chinese TVs," Huangming Yang, Director of Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI), told PTI.

"My heart goes with you. I, together with my colleagues and all Chinese people, would like to express my condolence, and share the sadness and grief with victims families and the Indian people," Yang said.

"I strongly condemn the unforgiving and inhuman crime."

"I am confident that India, a great nation with a long history and uniquely rich culture, will emerge even stronger after the attack," Yang said.

The scientist also offered help, together with his colleagues and friends at BGI.
