Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress campaign committee Chairman Ajay Singh today expressed confidence that his party would wrest power from the BJP in the state Assembly elections held on November 27.
Singh told PTI that his confidence stemmed from a variety of factors including the strong anti-incumbency wave against the ruling BJP government.
Apart from this, people were generally unhappy with the law and order situation in the state during the BJP rule and they perceive the Congress to be a party that worked for the poor, he said.
Asked how many seats the party would win, the Congress leader said, he would not like to talk of numbers. "The party would surely secure a comfortable majority," he said.
Singh also asserted that the Congress would form the next government on its own and would not need the support of any other party.
