Families of fallen heroes to get petrol pumps
Saturday, November 29, 2008 21:30 [IST]
New Delhi: Dependents of brave security personnel who laid down their lives in anti-terrorist operations in Mumbai will be given petrol pumps and LPG dealerships, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora on Saturday announced.

The Indian security personnel displayed exemplary bravery and courage in defeating the terrorists, Deora said.

"It is our national duty to take care of the dependents of our national heroes who attained martyrdom," he said. "These brave-hearts have given their today to secure our tomorrow," he added.

Deora said for the officers of security forces who laid down their lives fighting the terrorists, a rehabilitation package was being worked out by his Ministry and one of the dealerships of petroleum products like retail outlets, LPG , SKO dealerships or CNG stations will be offered to their families.

These agencies would be offered on the lines of those provided to the martyrs of Operation Vijay in Kargil and the Parliament attack, he said.
