Widow loses only son and all hope in Mumbai attack

Lucknow: For Noora Khatoon, a resident of UP's Sant Kabir Nagar district, November 26 was the darkest day of her life, when the widow lost her only son in the Mumbai terror attacks.
The 22-year-old Hidaytullah, who was to get married on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha on December 9,was killed on the fateful Wednesday night when terrorists attacked the popular Leopold Cafe in Mumbai's Colaba area.
The resident of Bakoli Kalan village here, fell victim to the terrorist's bullet while attending his duties at the Cafe, where he was an employee.
"My son had gone to Mumbai in the month of April and we had decide that this Eid-ul-Azha, we will solemnise his marriage," 60-year-old Khatoon said adding the entire village was in fact waiting for her son's marriage.
However, destiny chose otherwise and the 60 year old mother had to witness the last rituals of her son.
"Sehera kee tamannaa thee, janazaa nikala gaya" (I wished my son's marriage, but I had to see his funeral), Khatoon said before she broke into tears.
The deceased was the only earning member of the family and his father had died some years back.
She said that Hidaytullah had left for Mumbai on April 27 last.
