Rockets hit NATO trucks in Pakistan
Monday, December 01, 2008 17:27 [IST]
Islamabad: Two persons were killed and two others injured when militants today fired rockets at a bus terminal in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar used by trucks ferrying supplies to NATO and US forces in Afghanistan.

Police officer Zahoor Khan confirmed that the attackers fired at least three rockets into the Al-Faisal Terminal early this morning and torched two armoured vehicles and two cranes. A dozen trucks were also destroyed in the attack.

Two men were killed instantly by the blasts. The condition of the two injured persons was described as critical, said Khan.

Police and fire fighting personnel extinguished a fire sparked by the explosions.

Supplies for US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan are shipped to the Pakistani port city of Karachi before being transported overland through the troubled North West Frontier Province and adjoining tribal belt.
