Madurai: Three persons have been hacked to death by a four-member gang at Melaanupanadi near here, police said.

Police suspected that the murders were an act of revenge to the killing of Chinnamoonuz, a rowdy, in the same area on October 31.

According to police, Marimuthu, Moorthy and Ramesh were hacked to death by the gang.

Police said a special team had been formed to nab the culprits.
