Tokyo: Japan's Emperor Akihito, who was diagnosed as having an irregular pulse, is in stable condition and no restrictions have been imposed on his daily activities, Japanese media reported Wednesday.
The emperor, 75, complained of an unusual feeling in his chest two weeks ago. His blood pressure rose Tuesday night.
He cancelled his schedule for Wednesday.
Kyodo News Agency quoted Ichiro Kanazawa, the Imperial Household Agency medical supervisor, as saying that Akihito was feeling comfortable Wednesday and that his blood pressure remained stable.
