Patil case: HC directs CBI to file fresh report
Thursday, December 04, 2008 17:54 [IST]

Mumbai: The Mumbai High Court today directed CBI to re-investigate certain areas of probe into the murder of Jalgaon-based Congress leader Vishram Patil and asked it to file a fresh probe report by January 12.

The court specially wanted re-investigation of the calls allegedly made by President Pratibha Patil's brother G N Patil, to the accused who was issued charge sheet in the case. Vishram Patil's widow Rajni had filed a petition in the High Court last year seeking to make G N Patil an accused in the case.

The investigating agency had earlier told the High Court that there was no evidence against G N Patil. Vishram Patil was murdered in September 2005.
