New Delhi: Scores of scribes today held a condolence function in the national capital to pay tribute to senior journalist Sabina Sehgal Saikia and others who lost their lives in the Mumbai terror attacks last week.
A peace march was held from Indian News Paper Society building to the Press Club of India where the journalists offered floral tributes, lit candles and held prayer in memory of their colleagues and other victims.
A former journalist and member of Press Club of India Ravi Dara, who was also a victim of the attack at the Taj hotel, was remembered during the function.
"Offering condolences is an expression that we ll always remember our loved ones whom we lost in the brutal attack," said Parvez Ahmed, PCI President.
"While condoling the death of Sabina, Ravi Dara and others, we want to give a message that journalists not only cover events for the interest of people but also sacrifice their lives during the course," said Pushpendra Kulshrestha, Secretary General of PCI.
Both Sabina Sehgal, a food critic and Consulting Editor with Times of India, and Dara, a retired journalist from Hindustan Times, were among those killed during the Mumbai terror attacks which took place at various locations, including Taj, hotel Trident, Leopold Cafe and CST railway station on November 26.
