Noida: It was a rare instance of the hunter being hunted when a man, who was accused of dowry demand, lodged a complaint against his father-in-law for giving him the same.

Namit Juiyal, who was released on bail in dowry case, yesterday lodged a complaint against Colonel (Retd) R C Dabral, holding that giving dowry is as punishable as accepting it, police said.

Case was registered against Juiyas last year.

Being released on bail, he moved the court and pleaded that FIR be registered against his father-in-law for giving him dowry. He obtained a court order and produced at Sector 20 police station on Wednesday.

Case under Dowry Act (Section 3 (c) has been registered against the (rtd) Colonel. However, he was not arrested.

He pleaded that he had not given any dowry at marriage. It was a "kanya daan".
