Armed men attack priest of a temple in Sonepat

Sonepat: Atleast seven masked and armed persons forced their way into temple of "Kaali Maata" at Barhi village about 16 km from here last night and fired shots on the priest Manshapur and one on his follower Gajanand before they fled from the village.

Police said today Gajanand sustained bullet injuries and he was rushed to a cocal private hospital, where he was opereated upon by the doctors but his conditon is stated to be serious.

Police registered A case and launched a hunt to apprehend the culprits who are still at large.

Chowkidar of the temple told the police that the culprits scaled the wall of the shrine from behind and entered the temple around midnight.

They immediately fired shots on priest and one on his followers.

The priest and his followere also waved lathis and pelted stones and bricks on the criminals as a result of which one on them became unconscious.

The culprits however managed to scape after taking away his unconscious associates and firing sots.
