Rehman lambasts parties for anti-people policies
Friday, December 05, 2008 15:12 [IST]

Jammu: Accusing the previous governments in Jammu and Kashmir of mis-governance, state Samajawadi Party President Sheikh Abdul Rehman today alleged that due to their faulty policies the state has lagged behind on several fronts.

Rehman, while addressing a gathering at Kathua district, alleged that due to parties such as National Conference (NC), Congress and Peoples Democratic party (PDP), the state is suffering from problems like corruption, favouritism, unemployment and regional and sub-regional imbalance.

Criticising these parties, he said that for the first four years there was a complete embargo on the government jobs during the NC rule in the state but suddenly during the election year 50,000 new jobs were created with an eye on the vote bank.

He also said the PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was not interested in the welfare of the state as he is in the politics since 1967 but has done little.
