Bhopal: A representative of Election Commission (EC) of India will supervise the counting of votes of recently held Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls which will take place on December 8.
Addressing a press conference today Bhopal Collector Manish Rastogi said that this is for the first time that the EC has decided to depute its representatives at each table, on which the votes will be counted from the electronic voting machines (EVMs), to keep a tab on the counting.
The representative will sent their reports during the counting process after periodically tallying the figures from the EVMs to the respective EC's Assembly constituency in-charge observer, he said.
If the observer would find any discrepancy on the part of counting supervisor and counting assistant following the report of its representative, the supervisor and his assistant will be suspended immediately, he added. Source : PTI
