Saturday, December 06, 2008 13:25 [IST]

Srinagar: A Jammu and Kashmir policeman has been arrested for providing one of the SIM cards that were used by the terrorists involved in the Mumbai carnage, police said here Saturday.

According to information available here, the policeman was arrested by Kolkata police in Delhi Friday. The Kolkata police had been tipped off about him after they arrested a person in Kolkata from whom the terrorists had bought the SIM cards.

Reports also said a team of the Kolkata special task force arrived here Friday in connection with the arrest.

However, the Jammu and Kashmir police said they did not have much information about the developments.

"We do not have the details yet except that we understand a policeman of Jammu and Kashmir has been arrested allegedly for links with Mumbai terror attacks", a senior police officer told IANS here.
