New Delhi: On a mission to express solidarity with India in the war against terror, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown will have a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Sunday.
Browns unannounced brief visit, the second to India in 11 months, has been kept under wraps due to security reasons. The British premier flew in this morning enroute to Kabul where he visited British troops stationed in southern part of the war-ravaged country.
During the breakfast meeting tomorrow, Brown is expected to convey to Singh that his government stands solidly with India in their response and ready to offer all necessary help.
Singh and Brown are expected to discuss the growing threat posed by terrorism. The Prime Minister is likely to share some of the details about the investigations showing links with terror groups in Pakistan.
The British Prime Minister was among the first world leaders to speak to Singh after the terror siege in Mumbai began. "I think I speak for the whole world- shock and outrage at the tragic destruction of innocent lives... We will do everything we can to help the Indian Government," he had said.
Probe into the terror strikes that left more than 180 people dead including 26 foreigners have established clear involvement of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba and its front outfit Jamaat-ul-Dawa.
Britain's Scotland Yard is assisting in the probe of the November 26 terror strikes in the financial capital of the country. Brown had visited India in January this year during which the two sides had discussed issued pertaining to counter-terrorism.
