Govt to make statement on Antulay issue: Mukherjee
Thursday, December 18, 2008 16:33 [IST]

New Delhi: Government will make a statement on the remarks by Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay before the end of the Parliament session, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told the Lok Sabha today.

"Government will make a statement either tomorrow or before the end of the session on December 23," he said as opposition members demanded sacking of Antulay for raising doubts over the circumstances in which Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed by Pakistani terrorists on November 26.

As soon as the House convened for the post-lunch session, BJP members demanded sacking of Antulay, while Shiv Sena member Anant Geete wanted the government to make a statement on the matter.
