Two killed in different accidents in North Kerala

Kozhikode: Two persons, including an Ayappa devotee hailing from Bangalore, were killed in different road mishaps in neighbouring Malappuram and Wayanad districts today, reports reaching here said.

Anand, hailing from Indira Nagar in Bangalore, was killed when the van he was travelling in along with several other Ayappa devotees went out of control and rammed into a tree at Meenangadi in Wayanad, the reports said.

Sixteen others were injured. The condition of three of them was stated to be serious.

In the other accident at Malappuram, a vegetable vendor, identified as Shanawaz, was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a lorry at Nilambur.

The lorry also reportedly rammed into a bus, injuring 10 passengers.
