Agartala: Tripura information and cultural affairs minister Anil Sarkar Tuesday termed Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi, who hurled his shoes at US President George W. Bush, as the 'most courageous journalist' in the world.
"Yes, Muntazer al-Zaidi is the bravest and audacious journalist across the world as he rightly threw his shoes as part of protest against the US oppression on the Iraqi people," Sarkar said after inaugurating a three-day media workshop here.
So impressed was Sarkar with the Iraqi journalist that the minister wrote poems supporting al-Zaidi's action.
Some of the specially written poems appeared in local newspapers here Sunday.
