Vellore: Three shopowners have been sentenced to one month imprisonment by a court in the district for engaging child labour.
The magistrate court in Ambur also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on H Basha, Logu Eswaran and Chinnasamy yesterday, Labour Inspector A Panneerselvam said today.
He said the labour department rescued four children from the shops during a raid in November last and registered cases against the three shopowners.
