New Delhi: Ruling out any rift between the JD(U) and BJP, acting convener of NDA Sharad Yadav today said the alliance between the two parties was intact and will continue in Bihar as well as at the national level.
Yadav, who is also the President of JD(U), chose to distance himself from party MP Ejaj Ali's stand suggesting JDU should snap ties with BJP.
"That could be his personal opinion. This will have no impact on our alliance. The alliance will continue in Bihar as well as the national level," Yadav said.
"There is democracy in our party. Everybody has a right to speak. People speak out in the party," Yadav said, refusing to attach any significance to Ali's remarks.
Yadav also dismissed reports of differences between BJP and JD(U)'s stand over Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay's remark on ATS chief Hemant Karkare's killing.
While BJP took a tough stand against Antulay over his remarks, JD(U) spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari stopped short of supporting the union minister saying that a number of MPs told him that what Antulay feels is the refrain of a large number of Common Muslims and it is the responsibility of the majority to allay the fears from the minorities mind.
"Leaders from other parties have also spoken on the issue, which was different from their party's official line. There is nothing alarming into it. BJP-JDU both are in NDA and will remain so," Yadav said. Source : PTI
