Puducherry: Director General of Police of Puducherry A S Khan has been transferred to Delhi to take up an assignment there, according to official sources.

Khan, who was DGP here for nearly a year has been shifted to Delhi and the sources said A K Verma Joint Commissioner of Police, Delhi, would succeed him and take charge soon.

Meanwhile, the police department has shuffled officers in the ranks of Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors, a measure said to be a direct sequel to the steps the department initiated in the context of the December 19 agitation by police on the premises of local courts.
