New Delhi: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in the capital, the police said Wednesday.

The girl, a resident of Shakarpur in east Delhi, had gone out to attend nature's call around midnight Tuesday when her neighbour Dilshad forcibly took her to his home and allegedly raped her, the police said.

The girl's parents were not at home when the incident took place. She has five other siblings and her father works in a sweet shop.

“The girl reported about the incident to her parents, who approached the police Wednesday morning,” a police officer said.

A case has been registered against Dilshad, who was absconding.
